Since 2000, her firm Interview Etiquette has specialized in customized seminars and workshops related to impression management and workplace communication. Topics have included customer service, business dining etiquette, strategic interview techniques, intercultural savvy, professional expression, female interaction, and gender differences. Her clients extend from Alaska to South Carolina, representing business, government, and education.

Prior to pursuing a career in education, she was a human resource consultant who specialized in hiring and selection for Fortune 500 clientele in the automotive and pharmaceutical industries. She has managed three start-up operations, including a corporate staffing operation in North Carolina and two entrepreneurial endeavors.

Additionally, she has gained sales management experience and managed multi-million dollar corporate budgets. In Western Michigan, she was a multi-unit manager of a pilot project involving self-directed work teams within the fast food service industry. She also managed 175 independent sales representatives of beauty products in Northern Virginia.

She is a frequent contributor to a variety of newspapers and magazines on topics related to interview dining, teen employment, behavioral interview techniques, and intercultural competence.

As an advocate for young stroke awareness, she has presented before Congressional briefings on Capitol Hill on behalf of the American Heart Association and the National Stroke Association.

She has traveled extensively for study and work to 46 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as 24 countries. Her foreign travels included Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Kenya, Seychelles, Germany, France, Monaco, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, England, Hungary, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Canada, and Mexico.

She is a graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. She earned a master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Murray State University.
